Ghanaian gospel singer and record producer, Nacee has opened up about his battle with Sickle Cell disease.
Nana Osei, as he is known outside music circles, shared his story during an interview on Hitz FM on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
Nacee revealed that he was diagnosed with Sickle Cell disease early in his life, and the prognosis from his doctor was grim.
When diagnosed with sickle cell, the doctor said I wouldn't live past 20. I'm almost 50 now, and the doctor has passed away. – Nacee. #DaybreakHitz pic.twitter.com/Q0lKPO80UX

He explained that his doctor indicated that he may only live for about 20 to 23 more years.
Despite this dire prediction, Nacee has defied the odds and is now nearing his 50th birthday.
Reflecting on his journey, Nacee acknowledged the critical role the doctor played in managing his condition.
Although the doctor has since passed away, Nacee expressed his gratitude.
"He is very wonderful. He is the one that God used to save my life at that time," he recounted.
Nacee’s added that there was one encounter he had in church which he believes sealed the deal for his healing.
According to him, during an alter call, he joined the congregants who came forth before the preacher.
"The pastor called the elders and they all came forward, poured oil on me and prayed for me. Since that day till today... I have never felt sick again. Never. None of my kids [too]," he added.
