The GCB Bank PLC has donated food items and an undisclosed amount to the office of the National Chief Imam ahead of the Eid al-Adha celebration.
The donation was made during a ceremony attended by GCB Bank’s Deputy Managing Director of Operations, Emmanuel Odartey Lamptey and some staff of the bank.
Speaking to the media after the ceremony, Mr. Lamptey emphasised the significant role the Chief Imam has played in national development.
“The Chief Imam has played a significant role in national development. So we’re here to pay a courtesy to him. This is a season of sacrifice, and we view his leadership as a form of sacrifice. Therefore, we are here as GCB Bank to pay our respects to him," he stated.
Mr. Lamptey highlighted that GCB Bank views its work as a form of sacrifice, reflected in its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
“As part of our CSR, we’ve invested in the educational sector and various health facilities. Being here today is a form of taking more inspiration from the Chief Imam and his exemplary leadership. We are inspired to do more to support the economic growth of Ghana,” he said.
He further wished Muslims across the country a joyous Eid with abundant blessings from Allah.
Receiving the donation, Chief Imam Osman Nuhu Sharubutu expressed his gratitude to the bank through his prayers.
He asked Allah to bless the bank in order for them to continue to help others and bring national development.
