The Overlord of Gonjaland, His Royal Majesty Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I is set to visit the chief of the Dagbon kingdom, Ya Na Mahama Abukari II at his palace in Yendi.
The historic visit is expected to take place today, Sunday, June 23, 2024.
The development has generated massive excitement in the Northern region since the visit is the first of its kind.
Although the Dagombas and Gonjas have been neighbours for centuries, no king, especially the Overlords, has ever visited the other.
This is also the first time the Yagbonwura, the king of Gonjaland is visiting the Ya Na.
Later, the Yagbonwura will also visit the Mamprugu kingdom where he will meet the Nayiri Na Mahami Bohigu Sheriga.
