The annual First National Bank Accra Marathon is back this year, taking place on October 12. This iconic race has become an integral part of the city's fabric, promoting health, wellness, and community spirit.
"We are proud to continue this tradition," said Warren Adams Chief Executive Officer at First National Bank. "Our goal is to partner the Dansoman Keep Fit Club to create a world-class experience that inspires athletes and celebrates the spirit of our community."
He added that the bank’s support for the Accra Marathon reinforces its commitment to supporting initiatives that positively impact the communities we serve. “The First National Bank Accra Marathon has become an integral part of the community and we are dedicated to giving it the support and attention it needs to be sustained”, says Warren.
Highlighting the performance of last year’s marathon event, Benjamin Ahulu the Chairman of the Dansoman Keep Fit Club, the organizers of the marathon, indicated that last year’s event was a resounding success, with over 5,000 participants and 500 volunteers coming together to make it a memorable day. “Last year’s event was a resounding success, with participants praising the return of the only real marathon in Ghana, enhanced spectator experience and an electrifying atmosphere we worked so hard for.”
Registration is now open for the marathon, 10km children’s half marathon, and 5km corporate races. Interested participants can register at all First National Bank branches until October 5.
