Hearts of Oak redeemed themselves after their Democracy Cup loss by defeating Heart of Lions 8-7 on penalties to lift the Homowo Charity Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The match was a hard-fought battle, with Hearts of Oak initially trailing after their former forward, Kwadwo Obeng Junior, opened the scoring for the Lions in the first half.
However, Hearts of Oak found the equalizer just before full-time, thanks to a goal by Hussein Mohammed.
With the score locked at 1-1 after regulation time, the match was decided by penalties, where the Phobians emerged victorious.
Lion's Bismark Anim missed his spot-kick, handing the trophy to Hearts of Oak.
The friendly encounter provided Hearts boss Aboubakar Ouattara the opportunity to field new signings including Kwame Boateng and Mawuli Wayo.
They begin their campaign against newly promoted side Basake Holy Stars in the Ghana Premier League which starts on September 6.
