Armed Police officers have been deployed to Sepe in the Asokore Mampong Municipality to evict squatters on a land owned by the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL).
The squatters include truck drivers and mechanics who park their vehicles on the land, as well as others who have erected temporary structures, including church buildings.
Notices from the Ghana Airport Company Limited posted on the walls surrounding the land had instructed the squatters to vacate the premises since February of this year.
As the demolition exercise progresses, many squatters, including families with children, have been left stranded.

The land in question is situated near the Agenda 111 Hospital project site in the Asokore Mampong Municipality.
Court bailiffs, with Police support, are currently clearing the area, and squatters are in the process of removing their belongings.
The Assembly Member for the Sepe Timpom Electoral Area, Awudu Abubakar Yakayaka told Accra-based Citi News that local opinion leaders were not consulted before the execution of the court order.
