Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, widely known as NAPO and the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on the people of Wenchi in the Bono Region to honour the legacy of former Prime Minister Dr Kofi Abrefa Busia by ensuring victory for the NPP in the December elections.
During his campaign visit to Wenchi, NAPO paid tribute to Dr Busia by laying a wreath in his memory.
Wenchi, a town of great significance to the NPP’s political tradition, was the focus of his tour. He and his team engaged with local chiefs, clergy, Muslims, and other residents.
NAPO urged the chiefs and clergy to pray for the NPP and provide guidance in their public service to the community.
He reminded the people of Wenchi of Dr Busia’s contributions to Ghana and the NPP’s political lineage, emphasising that a vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia would be a way to honour Dr Busia’s legacy.
The Wenchi constituency, which has traditionally been an NPP stronghold, was won by the NDC in 2020.
In response, NAPO called on the people to recognise the current government's achievements and vote overwhelmingly for Dr Bawumia and the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Wenchi, Kojo Frempong, in the upcoming election.
Kojo Frempong, in turn, pledged his commitment to reclaim the Wenchi seat for the NPP and appealed for the support of the chiefs and residents to secure a decisive victory in December.
