The Ghana Police Service has refuted allegations circulating in a viral video about a supposed secret recruitment exercise taking place at the Kumasi Police Training School in the Ashanti region.
According to a police statement, on Monday, September 2, 2024, a special operation was conducted in Kumasi, leading to the arrest of 487 suspects linked to the QNET Ponzi scheme.
Given the large number of suspects, the police used the Kumasi Police Training School as a temporary facility for screening and investigation.
However, during the screening process, members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) reportedly stormed the training school, alleging that a covert recruitment exercise was in progress.
After realising that no such recruitment was taking place, the group dispersed.
The police have urged the public to disregard the rumours of a secret recruitment exercise, calling the claims baseless and deserving of contempt.
The police emphasized that the operation at the training school was strictly part of ongoing investigations related to the QNET Ponzi scheme.
