Board Member of Hearts of Oak, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe is confident the playing body will soon “gel beautifully” despite a dismal start to the Ghana Premier League.
The Phobians have suffered consecutive defeats to newly promoted Basake Holy Stars and Heart of Lions in their first two matches, leaving them at the bottom of the 18-team league.
The poor run of form was carried over from last season, when Hearts of Oak had to win their final match to secure survival in the league.
Head coach Aboubakar Ouattara is under increasing scrutiny, having lost more games (9) than he has won (7) during his tenure.
When asked by Angel Sports about the possible dismissal of the Ivorian trainer, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said: “I totally disagree with that. The coach has been given that freehand by the Board to select his own boys and train them and that is exactly what he is doing.
"He tried the boys before he brought them into the team. If we have lost two matches, that does not mean we have failed or that does not mean the coach has failed. I don’t believe that.
"I believe strongly that the way they are playing now, very soon, they will gel very beautifully and all these 'doubting Thomases' will now see that it takes time to train boys."
Hearts will look to pick their first win of the season in their next Premier League fixture against Bechem United.
