The Black Stars' hopes of getting their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers campaign back on track hit a snag as they failed to beat Sudan.
Ghana were held to a 0-0 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 10, as the former's chase for a first win in the qualifiers continued.
The team failed to convert several opportunities that came their way in the second half and failed to sparkle on their return to Accra.
Otto Addo named a strong starting lineup for matchday three of the qualifiers with Mohammed Kudus wearing the armband in the absence of Thomas Partey.
Abdul Mumin was moved to the bench for the returning Alexander Djiku while Tariq Lamptey was replaced by Alidu Seidu at right-back with Gideon Mensah coming into the team.
Atalanta midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana was handed his first start as a Black Stars player with Ernest Nuamah, Jordan Ayew and Antoine Semenyo completing the lineup.
Ghana almost had a perfect start to the game in the early minutes but Alexander Djiku's effort failed to hit the back of the net.
The team continued to create chances but found goalscoring to be the issue as the first half ended with no goal.
Addo's side came back from recess and played one of their best halves since his return.
Semnyo should have converted from close-range minutes into the second half while Kudus and substitute Inaki Williams also came close to sealing a win for Ghana but were unlucky to see their efforts saved.
The game ended 0-0 with Ghana's chances growing slimmer after three games played.
The Black Stars have two points from three games after Thursday's draw.
They now travel to Libya for the return fixture against Sudan knowing that a win could take them up to second in Group F.
