Former Ghana youth international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has tipped the Black Satellites for greater things following their performances at the WAFU B U-20 Cup of Nations Championship.
The Satellites reached the final of the competition staged in Lome, Togo, but eventually lost to Nigeria by a score of 1-2.
Agyemang Badu believes the team demonstrated great fighting spirit during the course of the tournament.
"Yes, I was well impressed. I watched all the games; against Togo, Niger and Nigeria as well," he said speaking to 3Sports.
"They played well, they go down and fight back to come and win games. I know Desmond [Ofe] as well; a very good coach, intelligent.
"We wanted to win the cup, the WAFU, however, we couldn’t. Finals is not that bad, we qualified. Let’s keep supporting Ghana to build a team that can win the AFCON.
"I wanted them to set the record we set in our time when we won the WAFU, AFCON, and World Cup. However, they’ve lost one; all is not lost. We would prepare very well for the AFCON so that we can qualify for the World Cup."
