The New Juaben Traditional Council, along with the family of the late Nana Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo, has confirmed the passing of the eminent business icon and statesman.
Dr. Addo, the Nkabomhene of New Juaben, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
Dr. Addo, a revered figure in the Ghanaian business community, founded Kama Group of Companies and was the Chairman of Mikaddo Holdings.
Widely respected as a visionary entrepreneur and pharmaceutical leader, he built an enduring legacy in Ghana’s business landscape.

His influence extended far beyond pharmaceuticals, with contributions to various sectors through his roles on numerous national and international boards.
In a statement, the New Juaben Traditional Council and the Suhyenhemaa expressed their grief over the loss of the "business colossus" and "astute statesman," highlighting the significant role he played both in traditional leadership and in driving economic development in Ghana.
To honor Dr. Addo’s life and contributions, a family gathering has been organized for friends, colleagues, and the public to pay their respects.
The gathering will be held from Monday, November 11 to Friday, November 15, 2024, at two locations: the forecourt of Mikaddo Plaza in Labone, Accra, and Mikaddo’s venue at Adum, Kumasi, between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.
Further details, including the one-week observation and final funeral arrangements, will be communicated by the family in the coming days.
Dr. Addo’s passing marks a great loss to Ghana’s business and traditional communities, where he was known as a pillar of strength and wisdom.
