Togbega Kadzi Zogah II, Paramount Chief of Sokpoe, has cut the sod for the construction of a two-unit kindergarten classroom block at Anaosukofe Primary School in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region.
This initiative follows escalating issues of classroom shortages at the school, where kindergarten pupils have been forced to learn under trees for the past twenty years.
Togbega also distributed essential supplies to the students, including mosquito nets, exercise books, pens, sanitisers, and sanitary pads.
According to him, this initiative is part of his commitment to improving both educational infrastructure and healthcare for his subjects in the Sokpoe Traditional Area.

"Education is key to unlocking our children's potential. I received my basic education at this school, and I am convinced that more prominent individuals will emerge from here, but only if we support and encourage them," Togbega Kadzi said.
Togbega also highlighted the poor state of the road networks, which hinder accessibility to the school, and appealed for support from corporate Ghana.
"The road networks leading to the school are in poor condition. I urge philanthropists and well-meaning Ghanaians to lend their support," he stated.
Togbega Kadzi also chaired a fundraising event aimed at expanding the piped water supply to Anaosukofe School.
This initiative, he explained, would ensure that students have access to clean water, promoting better hygiene and health.
Togbega Kadzi Zogah assured the community that work would commence in a few days to address the issue of kindergarten pupils studying under trees.
"I will ensure that the construction of the two-unit block begins immediately because it is heartbreaking to see our children studying under trees and running for shelter whenever it rains," he said.
Togbega also praised the efforts of Mr William Kormedoda, an alumnus of the school, for his contribution towards the construction of a nine-unit toilet facility at the school.

Mr Agbesi Woyome, the Member of Parliament for South Tongu, expressed his gratitude to Togbega Kadzi Zogah for his intervention. He pledged his support to ensure the successful completion of the project and to provide the kindergarten pupils with a modern classroom block to enhance their learning experience.
Residents of Anaosukofe praised Togbega's dedication and his timely efforts to improve the educational prospects in the community.
