Kuami Eugene has appreciated the church for contributing to his artistry as a musician.
According to the highlife musician, he nurtured his music talent by learning how to play musical instruments while growing up in church.
"The church made me, I learnt everything I know from the church. When I was young, I knew I would become a very great musician. So I told myself I should prepare so well before I got to the top. So I prepared a lot so I can play every musical instrument that I lay my hands on. No one taught me how to play the piano, I just started playing because I had been around it for a long time," he told Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM's Showbiz A-Z.
Kuami added that apart from the piano, he plays the trumpet, drums and the guitar.
To add value to his performance, Kuami indicated that he learnt how to do the back flip.
The 'Angela' hit maker further opened up about how he has been able to hone his skill in music production by taking a course in music production.
Kuami Eugene started his music journey as a gospel artiste when through the Eugene Marfo Ministries. He produced a few gospel songs prior to his big break after the MTN Hitmaker contest.
Even though he does not identify as a gospel artiste, he still pays allegiance to the church and works closely with some gospel musicians. He has written songs for gospel artistes like Joyce Blessing, Empress Gifty and has a song with Obaapa Christy.
Apart from that, Kuami usually performs gospel songs at some churches and church events.
