Some Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and the aged in the Hohoe Constituency, have applauded measures put in place by the Electoral Commission (EC) to give them priority during the exercise.
Peter Dornyame, a 67-year-old Person with Disability (PWD), speaking with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after voting said he was happy with how he was treated.
He said the EC officers at the St Francis Demonstration Primary B Centre gave him maximum support, which he was pleased with.
Mr Dornyame said despite misplacing his voter identity card, he was assisted and treated well to go through the process.
Mr. Agozi Jacob, a 65-year-old security officer, who was the first to cast his vote at the High Court premises, commended the measures put in place at the centre.
He said the process was smooth and urged all to vote peacefully.
Meanwhile, the Biometric Voter Verification Devices (BVDs) at polling centres visited were functioning well.
At High Court Premises Centre A, B and C, New Magistrate Court Centre A and B, and A.M.E Zion, polling centres, all the BVDs were functioning well while all election materials such as indelible ink were also available.
Other centres visited include Volta Cinema Palace Centres, St Demonstration Junior High School centres A and B and the St Francis Demonstration Primary A, B and C centres.
Madam Sika Norgbe, Presiding Officer at St Francis Demonstration Primary 2 centre told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that out of 649 expected voters, 50 cast their votes as at 0851 hours.
As at 0910 hours, 73 out of 408 expected voters cast their votes at the St Francis Demonstration Primary B.
Some voters who spoke to the GNA expressed satisfaction with the process.
The GNA observed the presence of security personnel and party agents at all centres visited, but voters would however be at the mercy of the sun as the exercise travelled into midday due to the absence of shade.
There were 70,644 registered voters in the Hohoe Constituency Electoral Register with 147 polling stations.
