Baba Sadiq, the newly-elected Member of Parliament for the Okaikwei Central Constituency, has admonished his contender Patrick Boamah to accept defeat.
In an exclusive interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Sadiq addressed concerns raised by Patrick who is the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area.
"I think he must accept, so we can move on," he said.
Responding to Patrick's resolve to contest the election results in court, he said, "that’s an option less for him that one can’t really say. I would have wished that for someone that had been voted for three different times by the constituents and for them to actually show willingness to change this time around, I think he needs to accept the fate and probably move on to something else."
He, however, commended Boamah's political experience and potential for growth within his party and the political landscape.
"He is a fine gentleman, he’s got a very good political experience. I think he can move up and there is every opportunity for him to move up within his party or within the political ladder itself," he noted.
Baba noted that the results that trickled in clearly showed that the people wanted to change.
Baba Sadiq had 15,383 votes, defeating Patrick Boamah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who secured 14,949 votes.
