Thousands of users are facing issues accessing Meta-owned social media apps, including Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, with many unable to use the platforms for hours.
The outage is affecting users globally, causing frustration among social media users.
Outage tracking website Downdetector is showing a huge increase in reports for Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp Business, with many users facing problems with Meta-owned apps.
On Instagram alone, there have been over 30,000 reports, showing that the issue is affecting people globally.
As per the outage tracking website, 68 per cent of users reported issues related to the app, 21 per cent reported login problems, and 11 per cent are facing issues while accessing the Instagram website.
The data shared by Downdetector also revealed that 89 per cent of WhatsApp users are facing issues with sending messages, 9 per cent are experiencing problems with the app, and 2 per cent are having trouble with voice calls.
According to the website, at least 50 per cent of Facebook users are facing issues with the app, 34 per cent are experiencing login problems and the rest are having trouble with other features.
Meanwhile, X (formerly Twitter) is full of memes as users are taking no time to make fun of Meta apps around the outages. "WhatsApp Down, Instagram Down and Facebook Down are trending on the Elon Musk-owned social media platform.
