Ghanaian actor and politician Prince David Osei has sent a strong message to his critics, vowing to defend himself against any attacks, after supporting his political party in the recent elections.

In an exclusive interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Prince David Osei stated that he had received a lot of attacks on social media after his verified X account made disparaging comments about the President-Elect, John Dramani Mahama.

"One thing I know for sure is no man can kill me unless God allows it, but I’ll also defend myself because Ghana belongs to all of us and I’m not afraid of anybody," he told Andy Dosty.
Prince David Osei's message highlights the freedom to respect each other’s opinions since everyone is entitled to their rights of association and political affiliation.

"If I support a political ideology and someone stays at home and they feel like it’s right to attack me, I’ll defend myself because they also support a political party," he said.

He sent this warning message after his backlash over an alleged Twitter post by his cousins and friends, describing President-Elect John Dramani Mahama as a “drunkard”.

Prince David's X post that caused the attacks

Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei's X account made a post (now deleted) that described President-Elect John Dramani Mahama as a "drunkard."

The post was a reply to an X user who had written an unsavoury comment about the actor.

Prince who has since the incident apologized to the President-Elect, told Andy Dosty in an interview on Hitz FM that he was not the one who posted the insulting comment about the incoming President.

"After the election, we were all pained and sort of depressed because we were surprised at the outcome but all the same I came out to congratulate the NDC and the President-Elect. I even posted him and I said what I had to say elections are over we should all learn to live in peace. Then I started getting a lot of attacks on Twitter," he said.
He said due to the pain from the disappointment he did not carry his phones with him.

"So I even left the phone. I wasn't by my phone. Normally when they start bullying and doing all that stuff I just leave the phones to my cousins or some of my friends," Prince said on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM.

He said he was surprised when he woke up to see reports that he had insulted the president.

"I went on my Twitter feed to check where that was coming from. I noticed there was nothing like that but I saw people tagging me in something written by me on my page. Then I said no I didn't write this. I started asking my cousins and friends then they said oh people were annoying them so they were replying to them. Then I asked if anybody tagged them in any of those tweets, then they said no. But I could see people sharing it on Facebook from Prince David Osei's Twitter feed.

Because it was coming from my page, I came out to apologise and said I was sorry because people were calling my phone consistently with death threats," he said.
According to him, his cousins and friends have denied making the comment that described John Mahama as a "drunkard" but he believes they may have made those posts out of provocation from the X users who were attacking him.

"I think when they responded to the person, they deleted it," he noted.

Prince, however, told Andy Dosty that the only thing he posted was a congratulatory message to the incoming President and that it was not in his nature to insult elderly people.
