The National Peace Council (NPC) has acknowledged the ongoing collation of election results for three constituencies in the Eastern Region, currently taking place at the Tesano Police Training School in the Greater Accra Region.
The constituencies including Akwatia, Nsawam Adoagyiri, and Fanteakwa have been at the centre of delays following disruptions at earlier collation centres.
According to the NPC in a statement, the Electoral Commission (EC) moved the collation process from the constituencies to the regional level and subsequently to the national level due to incidents of disruption, destruction, and arson reported at other collation centres across the country.
The council confirmed through its partners that the relocation of the collation exercise to Tesano was solely an EC decision, with no involvement from political parties or the Ghana Police Service.
The NPC urged all political party representatives to utilise legal avenues to address their concerns, emphasising the importance of maintaining the safety of all participants during this critical stage of the electoral process.
The statement indicated that the NPC had called on the EC to convene an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting involving all political parties and key stakeholders to resolve the impasse.

“The NPC is pleased that the EC has heeded our call and an IPAC meeting is now ongoing,” the council stated.
In addition, the NPC encouraged the media to continue live broadcasts of the collation process to ensure transparency and maintain public trust in the electoral process.
As part of its peacebuilding efforts, the NPC affirmed its commitment to engaging all relevant stakeholders to achieve a peaceful resolution to the matter.
The council reiterated its belief that dialogue and adherence to due process are essential to safeguarding the integrity of Ghana’s electoral process and ensuring national peace.
