The youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kpando Constituency has lauded President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s decision to appoint Prosper Bani to lead the interim National Security Coordinating team.
They believe Mr Bani was selected based on his enormous experience in the field as he is a commitment to issues of security.
“We are particularly proud to see one of Kpando's illustrious sons, Mr. Prosper Douglas Bani, entrusted with the leadership of this critical team.
“His appointment is a reflection of his vast experience, dedication, and selfless service to Ghana”, stated in a communication signed by the Kpando NDC Youth Organizer, Nelson Deh, and copied to Myjoyonline.
Mr Deh described the appointment as an honour to the Kpando Constituency, which exhibits the rich human resources of the area.
He expressed optimism Mr. Bani would bring his expertise to bear as he leads the interim team to deliver its mandates, hoping to enhance peace and security in the country.
“As the team begins its important work on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, we express our full confidence in Mr. Bani’s leadership and the team's ability to deliver on this vital task. We reaffirm our support to ensure their efforts contribute to a secure, stable, and prosperous Ghana under the visionary leadership of President-elect Mahama”, he said.
He congratulated John Mahama on his election and described as apt the appointment of the six-member team to steer affairs of national security as the country transitions into a new era of governance.
Mr. Deh described the move by Mr. Mahama to put together a team of six distinguished individuals as apt, adding that it exhibits his commitment to building a peaceful country.
“It speaks to his commitment to building a secure and prosperous Ghana for all. We stand firmly behind him as he leads our nation into a new era of growth and stability.
“Once again, congratulations to Mr. Prosper Douglas Bani, His Excellency President-Elect John Dramani Mahama, and the entire team. We are confident that their work will inspire hope and confidence in the future of our beloved nation”, Mr. Deh concluded.
Mr Bani leads a team made up of Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay (Rd.), former Chief of Defence Staff, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, former Minister for National Security, Larry Gbevlo-Lartey Esq., former National Security Coordinator, Brigadier General Fuseini Iddrissu (Rtd.) and COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye (Rtd.).
