The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded swiftly, arriving at the scene within six minutes of receiving the emergency call at 05:27 hours.
Thanks to the prompt and coordinated efforts of the GNFS, the fire was brought under control.

The fire service’s rapid response was pivotal in preventing further damage and ensuring the safety of the surrounding area.
Through tactical firefighting strategies, including the use of two 5kg COâ‚‚ fire extinguishers, twenty-six 6kg dry chemical powder extinguishers, and water from a hose reel, the team successfully salvaged 23 out of the 25 shops in the immediate vicinity.
This swift intervention prevented the fire from spreading to the wider market, which is known for its high volume of commercial activity.

Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were recorded in the incident, underscoring the effectiveness of the Fire Service's timely response and preparedness.
The damage to the affected stores was minimised, thanks to the combined efforts of the Fire Service and intensified patrols in the area.
