The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has urged President John Mahama to complete the Eastern Corridor Road.
President Mahama is currently on a thank-you tour in Ho, in the Volta Region.
In an address to the gathering on Friday, 24th January, Togbe Afede XIV expressed his immense gratitude to the President for the prompt implementation of several policies he had promised during his campaign.
He added, “I also have enjoyed so much watching you try to restore Ghana’s image through your travelling, trying to re-establish lost friendships, trying to re-establish Ghana’s leadership in African affairs.”
He voiced his hope in the President’s commitment to completing unfinished projects from the previous government, including the Eastern Corridor Roads.
“A couple of things that we Voltarians are anxious to see happen, the Eastern Corridor Roads that you started have virtually been abandoned, and we are anxious to see it started,” he noted.
Togbe Afede XIV also mentioned that Ho and its surrounding areas are experiencing water shortages, which need to be addressed.
“I am sure you are aware that Ho and other parts of the region are suffering from water shortages,” he said.
He further commended the President’s intention to convert the Ho Airport into a pilot training school for the region.
“I want to thank you for instructing the Ghana Airport Company Limited to release the land for those of us who want to build a pilot training school in Ho,” he said.
