Fire has destroyed several shops at the Suame industrial enclave, Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
Numerous properties, including vehicles, spare parts, and auto-mechanic equipment worth millions of cedis, were ravaged by the inferno.
The fire reportedly started late Friday night, January 31, in one of the shops in an area known as "Garage."
Five fire tenders were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the raging fire, while residents in the vicinity sought refuge.
Although the cause of the fire has yet to be determined, eyewitnesses suggested that an electrical wiring in the area caught fire and ignited nearby gas cylinders, which eventually spread the flames to surrounding shops.
Firefighters worked swiftly to completely douse the blaze.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
Just four days prior, a similar fire incident had gutted about ten cars and ten shops in the same area.
The Suame industrial enclave is the largest auto-mechanic and trading centre in the region.
Further details will be provided as they become available.
