The newly sworn-in Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has pledged to uphold integrity and a deep love for Ghana in the discharge of his duties.
Speaking on TV3 on Saturday, 8th February, he emphasised that his leadership would be guided by principles of transparency, accountability, and unwavering patriotism.
Ablakwa, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, was officially sworn into office on Friday, 7th February.
He assured Ghanaians that his tenure at the Foreign Affairs Ministry would prioritise national interests, strengthen diplomatic ties, and promote Ghana’s global standing.
He stressed the importance of ethical leadership in international relations, promising to serve with diligence and honour.
He further highlighted his commitment to fostering strong partnerships with other nations while ensuring that Ghana’s sovereignty and strategic interests remain paramount.
According to him, effective diplomacy is key to national development, and he intends to work closely with both local and international stakeholders to advance the country’s foreign policy objectives.
As he assumes office, Ablakwa called for collective support from all stakeholders, including government officials, diplomats, and the general public.
He expressed optimism that, with integrity and patriotism as guiding principles, Ghana’s foreign relations would experience significant growth and bring lasting benefits to the nation.
