There was chaos at the Swedru Hospital after a motorcycle was involved in an accident at Agona Nyansakyere in the Agona East District.
The accident left one Okada rider dead and two others, including another rider and a passenger, were in critical condition.
The accident reportedly occurred when one rider, carrying a passenger, was traveling from Agona K.T.K to Agona Kwanyarko, while the other was heading in the opposite direction.
According to eyewitness accounts, both riders were speeding, and a power outage in the area may have contributed to the crash.
Following the accident, the victims were rushed to the Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital for treatment.
However, when news broke that one of the Okada riders had died, a group of his colleagues stormed the hospital, assaulted medical staff, and vandalised hospital equipment in a fit of rage.
According to Assemblyman for Agona Asafo Electoral Area, Ishmael Odoom, some of the Okada riders slapped a doctor on duty, chased out nurses, smashed their phones, and destroyed computers in the hospital.
Mr Odoom condemned the violent actions of the Okada riders, stating that such behavior is unacceptable and must be addressed by law enforcement.
He also noted that the accident could have been prevented if the riders had been more cautious on the road.
