A sixty-nine-year-old chief of Tinga from the Bole District of the Savannah Region, Seidu Sampson Abudu, has been elected as the Council of State member for the Savannah Region.
The former district chief executive of Bole under the National Democratic Congress [NDC] and a professional accountant polled 11 out of the 14 votes cast to beat three other contestants.
The other contestants are Abdullah Ahmed, zero, Adamu Seidu Jinkurige, two votes, and Adam Samuel Saibu, one vote.

In all, fourteen assembly members from seven districts in the region cast their votes.
The Electoral Commission official, David Acheampong, supervised the election and declared the results.
In his victory speech, Alhaji Seidu Sampson Abudu commended his fellow contestants, adding that his victory is a victory for all and not for an individual.

"I stand here to congratulate us, as people of Savannah Region. This victory isn't just mine but for us and the people of Gonjaland [Savannah Region], he said.
As a professional teacher, accountant, administrator, and former district chief executive , Mr Abudu comes to the table with a rich background of development experience.

The Savannah Regional Minister, Saulisu Be-Awuribe, commended all candidates and pledged the government's collaboration and support for the betterment and development of Savannah Region and Ghana.
