The Managing Director of GCB Bank PLC, Farihan Alhassan, has paid a courtesy call to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, at his residence in Fadama. The visit was to seek prayers and blessings as he takes on his new leadership role and to extend well wishes ahead of the upcoming Ramadan period.
During the meeting, Alhassan emphasized the importance of unity and financial inclusion, reaffirming GCB Bank’s commitment to serving all Ghanaians through its extensive network of over 184 branches. He highlighted the bank’s efforts in fostering strong community relationships and supporting the Muslim community, particularly during Ramadan.
"We came to our grandfather to seek his blessings as we take up a new responsibility. And again, with Ramadan just 10 days away, we wanted to wish him a happy Ramadan. Our bank believes there is more to what we do beyond banking; we need people like himself who pray for us," Alhassan stated.

He emphasized teamwork and financial accessibility, reaffirming GCB Bank’s commitment to inclusive banking. He also stressed that success relies on unity and shared goals. “You saw him praying for the bank to be very successful. You saw him praying for us to achieve our mission and vision. And so, it just aligns better with how we want things to be done. He also spoke about the need to unite our minds and work together as one team. That, for me, was the most profound takeaway from today’s visit,”
The National Chief Imam, in response, prayed for the continued success of the bank, urging the leadership to remain united in its mission.

GCB Bank has a long-standing tradition of engaging with and supporting the Muslim community, particularly during religious festivals. The visit underscores the bank’s dedication to community development and inclusivity in Ghana’s financial sector.
