A Tamale Circuit Court has convicted Salawudeen Abdullah, an unemployed 34-year-old, for selling prohibited drugs.
He was arrested on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with 30 sachets of Tafrodol Caps 120mg valued at GH₵ 600.00.
Abdullah admitted to the offenses and was brought before the court. The court ordered him to pay a fine of 4,700 penalty counts, equivalent to GH¢90,000, or face 15 years in prison if he defaults.

Abdullah was charged under Section 111 of the Public Health Act, 2012 (Act 851), for selling drugs without lawful authority.
He was also accused of selling Tafrodol Caps 120mg to young boys without a prescription.
According to the prosecutor, Abdullah was caught by a patrol team at Lamashegu Shell Filling station, attempting to purchase fuel with the concealed drugs.
He claimed ownership of the exhibits and named Iddriss at Gushegu as his supplier.
Investigations revealed that Abdullah had been delivering Tafrodol 120mg to clients within and outside Tamale.
