The Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to prioritise job creation rather than terminating the appointments of individuals he inherited from the previous administration.
Speaking in an interview with Metro TV on Friday, 28th February, the former Deputy Minister for Education expressed concern over the mass dismissals of government employees following the assumption of office by the Mahama administration.
He criticised the move, arguing that it could worsen unemployment and economic hardship in the country.
"The focus should be on creating more jobs, not terminating the ones you came to meet. Dismissing hardworking citizens only increases economic instability and unemployment," he stated.
Rev. Ntim Fordjour further called on the president to reconsider his approach, emphasising the need for fairness and continuity in governance.
He urged the administration to focus on economic growth and job opportunities rather than politically motivated dismissals.
"Leadership is about progress. If we truly care about the welfare of Ghanaians, we must ensure job security while creating more opportunities for the youth," he added.
