Ghanaian actress Kafui Danku-Pitcher has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA) Ghana.
Kafui Danku-Pitcher is a highly accomplished Ghanaian filmmaker, author, and entrepreneur with a strong record in creative arts, tourism, and economic development.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English and Classics from the University of Cape Coast and is currently pursuing an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) at the University of Ghana.
Her skill set encompasses leadership and governance, expertise in the creative industry, communication and interpersonal abilities, digital literacy, innovation, and building collaborative partnerships. She is committed to advancing creative arts, cultural preservation, and economic growth through strategic policies and initiatives.
Madam Kafui Danku-Pitcher has been working as an actress and filmmaker since 2008 and has been an executive producer at ABC Pictures Limited since 2013. She has also worked with the UNHCR as a Repatriation Assistant.
Her work with the UN demonstrates her ability to implement and monitor standards, interview refugees, conduct socio-economic surveys, and analyze data to propose strategic solutions. She possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as empathy and an understanding of cultural diversity.
As an activist and Goodwill Ambassador, she has demonstrated her commitment to social issues by launching 'Silence Is Not Golden' to encourage women to speak out, campaigning against child marriage, and supporting children with Kwashiorkor.
Madam Kafui was recognized by the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) for Advancing the Role of Women in Politics, Peace and Security, and Economic Institutions.
Madam Kafui's ability to establish industry standards, foster partnerships, and provide policy advice makes her a valuable asset. She has received multiple awards and recognitions, including Tourism Personality of the Year 2024 and Most Outstanding Women Entrepreneur’s Rising.
She also empowers start-up businesses through the 'Dream Achievers Project', demonstrating her commitment to fostering economic development. Madam Kafui has been invited to numerous summits and conferences, including the UN Summit of the Future 2024 and the Women Empowerment Summit.
She aims to foster a conducive environment for the growth of the creative arts industry, empower practitioners, and drive significant contributions to Ghana's GDP in her role as the CEO & Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority.
