Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has expressed the country’s readiness to strengthen collaboration with India in key sectors such as agricultural technology and infrastructure development.
Speaking during his visit to India, he highlighted the importance of leveraging India’s expertise to enhance Ghana’s economic growth and development.
During bilateral discussions with his Indian counterpart His Excellency Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Mr Ablakwa emphasised the shared commitment of both nations to fostering stronger economic ties.

“Ghana is eager to collaborate with India in leveraging expertise in agricultural technology and infrastructure development.”
“Our partnership will open new opportunities for knowledge exchange and investment,” he stated. He added that Ghana seeks to modernise its agricultural sector and improve infrastructure to drive sustainable development.

The Minister acknowledged India’s advancements in agricultural technology, particularly in irrigation systems, mechanisation, and food processing, as key areas where Ghana could benefit.
He also underscored the potential for infrastructure collaboration, particularly in road construction, energy, and smart city initiatives.
“India’s experience in these sectors is invaluable, and we look forward to deepening our cooperation to enhance Ghana’s economic transformation,” he noted.

Mr Ablakwa’s visit, which follows an invitation from his Indian counterpart, marks a step towards strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations.
He reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial partnerships and expressed confidence that enhanced cooperation with India would contribute to Ghana’s long-term development goals.
