A devastating fire broke out at a fuel station in Teshie, engulfing a vehicle and damaging at least three commercial structures, including a barbering salon, a drinking bar, and a grocery shop.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started when a vehicle arrived to supply fuel to the station, which is suspected to be operating without proper authorisation.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service update, the blaze quickly spread, consuming the fuel station, an adjacent car, and several small businesses.
Firefighters from multiple units, including four fire tenders from the Trade Fair area in Accra, two from the national headquarters, and one from the Ghana Armed Forces, responded swiftly to contain the flames.
Their efforts successfully prevented further destruction, especially to a nearby school, they noted.
Upon arrival, the emergency team encountered fuel stored in gallons and a generator, raising concerns about fire safety regulations.
Despite the intensity of the fire, no casualties have been reported.
