One more person has died in an accident involving a Mercedes Sprinter Van and a VIP Grandbird bus that happened on Tuesday, along the Bekwai-Fomena Highway in the Ashanti Region.
Seven passengers on the Sprinter van died on the spot.

Twelve others, including the VIP bus driver, sustained some injuries and were rushed to Fomena Government Hospital and St. Benito Hospital in Dompoase.
One of the 12 passengers who were receiving treatment at Fomena Hospital has died, as another is referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Preliminary investigation by the National Road Safety Authority has revealed that the Sprinter bus travelling to Assin Fosu attempted to overtake a Toyota Corolla, resulting in a head-on collision with an oncoming VIP Grandbird bus.
