President John Dramani Mahama is expected to deliver a national address today, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, providing a comprehensive update on the achievements under his 120-day social contract with the people of Ghana.
The governance pact, which officially expires today, was launched as a performance-based political commitment to demonstrate measurable progress within the first 120 days of President Mahama’s administration after taking office on 7th January 2025.
Speaking to JoyNews' Maxwell Agbagba, Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu affirmed that the president has steadfastly honed the promises enshrined in the social contract.
“Substantial progress has been made" across critical sectors, the Minister stated, noting that the update will cover developments in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare delivery, education reform, job creation, and anti-corruption initiatives.
The 120-day contract was positioned as a benchmark for accountable governance, with a strong emphasis on transparency and impact-driven leadership.
President Mahama’s upcoming address is expected to outline both the gains made and the challenges encountered, offering Ghanaians a candid reflection on the journey so far.
