The Africa Sustainable Energy Centre (ASEC) has announced the upcoming Africa Sustainable Energy Dialogue (ASED), scheduled to take place virtually on Friday, May 16, 2025.
Under the theme “Bridging Africa's Energy Access Gap – Challenges, Innovations & the Path Forward”, the dialogue will focus on tackling one of the continent’s most urgent development challenges—universal access to reliable electricity.
With more than 600 million people in sub-Saharan Africa lacking access to dependable power, the ASED will provide a platform for sharing innovative solutions, shaping actionable policy frameworks, and strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors.
The event is expected to bring together over 1,000 participants, including policymakers, energy sector executives, development partners, scholars, and technology innovators, to craft a shared vision for a sustainable energy future that supports Africa’s development and transition goals.
