The construction of an access road in Tegbi, within the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region, has started by West Wave, a private hospitality company based in the municipality.

This, according to the company, forms part of efforts to advance eco-tourism and foster socio-economic growth in the locality.

Connectivity between Tegbi and several tourist attraction sites in the enclave is expected to be improved when the road project is completed, thereby facilitating easier movement for both residents and visitors.

Through the enhancement of the said road infrastructure, the tourism potential of the area is anticipated to be unlocked, investment is expected to be attracted, and sustainable employment opportunities are projected to be created for the people of Tegbi.

At a brief ceremony held to mark the beginning of the project on Saturday, appreciation was expressed by Torgbui Gawu V, Chief of Tegbi, to West Wave for the initiative.

“This project marks a new chapter for Tegbi. It will not only boost tourism but also bring tangible benefits to our people,” the Chief stated.

The development was noted to be in alignment with the community’s aspirations for growth and modernisation.

A reaffirmation of the company’s commitment to collaborating closely with traditional authorities and residents was made by Saviour Elorm Amedzi, a representative of West Wave.

He added that meaningful contributions to the local economy would be made, while the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the region would be preserved.

The project has been warmly received by the community, where it is being regarded as a significant step toward establishing Tegbi as a premier eco-tourism destination in Ghana.
