Nations FC defender Razak Simpson has earned a nomination for the 2025 Home-Based Footballer of the Year award at the upcoming Ghana Football Awards.
Simpson is joined on the five-man shortlist by his club teammate, winger Faisal Charwetey, and Berekum Chelsea forward Stephen Amankona, who currently tops the Ghana Premier League scoring charts with 15 goals. Also nominated are Samuel Atta Kumi of Bibiani GoldStars and Rudolf Jnr Nana Kwesi of Swedru All Blacks.
The nominations celebrate the players’ standout performances in the Ghana Premier League and Division One League during the 2024/25 season.
Last year’s award went to Emmanuel Keyekeh, whose influential campaign with FC Samartex played a key role in the club’s historic league title win—their first ever—earning him the top honour in the domestic category.
