The Municipal Chief Executive of Akatsi South, Daniel Dagbah, together with the Police, impounded a Toyota Venza private vehicle allegedly loaded with Marijuana.
This was after the vehicle was involved in an accident at the Monome bypass Junction at Akatsi in the Volta Region.
The black-coloured vehicle, with different registration numbers GS 234 -17 and GC 7258-13, somersaulted and later landed in a nearby bush after it was alleged to have been chased by some security officers.
Mr Dagba, who rushed to the scene, disclosed that the vehicle contained large quantities of Indian Hemp after a search was conducted.
“I got an alert around 1840 hours on Saturday that a car was involved in an accident in my area, so I rushed to the scene with my security detail to bring the situation under control.”

He said the accident vehicle, upon a search, had compressed leaves suspected to be Indian hemp in the car.
The car was subsequently towed to the Akatsi Police Station for further checks.
Mr Dagba, who is also Chairman of the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) of Akatsi South, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the compressed consignments involved 378 small-size, 43 flat-type, and 87 big-size pieces packed in sacks.
The driver, according to the Akatsi Police, is still at large.
The Police said efforts are underway to apprehend him.
A team from the Volta Regional Police Command has since taken custody of the retrieved consignments for further action.
