The Upper West Regional Police Command has secured a conviction against 19-year-old Adams Hamidu, also known as Gyida, who has been sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment in hard labour for robbery.
The verdict was delivered by the Wa Circuit Court on 5th June 2025.
In February 2025, Gyida, together with another masked accomplice, robbed a victim of a blue Honda motorcycle valued at GH¢20,000, a Tecno mobile phone worth GH¢1,300, and cash totalling GH¢10,800.
Following intelligence-led operations, Gyida was apprehended on 1st June 2025 at Domowa, in the Wa West District.
This conviction underscores the command’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding the community and upholding the rule of law.
The Regional Command has reassured the public of its continued dedication to combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
