The Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso-Boakye, together with all the Assembly Members within the Bantama Sub-Metropolitan District, has paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Mayor of Kumasi, Richard Ofori Boadu Agyemang.
The visit, which took place at the Mayor’s office, was to formally welcome him into his new role and engage in discussions on pressing development issues affecting the sub-metro.
Among the matters discussed were the management and maintenance of four AstroTurf facilities located within the sub-metro, as well as plans for the reconstruction of key local markets at Abrepo, Bohyen, and Ohwim.

The Mayor, Hon. Ofori Boadu Agyemang, commended the show of unity and collaboration demonstrated by the delegation, describing the joint visit of the MP and all assembly members as “a first of its kind.”
He pledged his readiness to work closely with the team to address their concerns and promote sustainable development in the area.

Mr. Asenso-Boakye reaffirmed his commitment to fostering collaboration between the Metropolitan Assembly and the community’s elected representatives to improve infrastructure and enhance local governance.

The meeting marks a renewed spirit of cooperation between the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly and the Bantama Sub-Metro, with both sides emphasising the importance of inclusive and strategic planning for the growth and transformation of the constituency.
