Ghanaian footballer Musah Mohammed has made a significant gesture to support youth football development in his hometown of Nkawkaw.
Through the Musah Foundation, the 23-year-old Bodrumspor midfielder donated sets of jerseys, footballs, and an undisclosed amount of money to two local youth teams.
The presentation took place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Nkawkaw Salvation Park during a mini football festival organised to mark the occasion.
The two beneficiary teams faced off in an exhibition match, which Mohammed attended. After the game, he interacted with the young players and shared words of encouragement.
“I would say the motivation is from the beginning of my career,” Mohammed told Joy Sports. “You can see there are a lot of young footballers and some older footballers in this town who didn’t get the opportunity to utilise their talent at the top level.
“So as far as I’m able to reach the top—and I’m still progressing—I decided to put something like this in my town so it can motivate the young ones and the seniors as well.”
The team that won the youth football competition received a trophy and medals, while the first runner-up was also awarded medals, along with the jerseys and footballs.

Musah Mohammed also revealed plans to create further opportunities for young players through talent showcases.
“As time goes on, we are going to be organising some gala matches for the young ones. There will be scouts from various countries, especially in Turkey, because that’s where I started my career.”
The day ended with a friendly game between Professionals (Musah XI) and Nkawkaw Barracks.
