The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffuor Awuah, has revealed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will take legal action against the Electoral Commission (EC) over its decision to re-run the 2024 parliamentary election in 19 polling stations within the Ablekuma North constituency.
"We are going to court. My update is that we are going to court, and what steps we have taken since are yet to come to my attention."
He was speaking on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday.
Mr Baffuor Awuah expressed the party’s disappointment with the EC’s handling of the matter, describing it as inconsistent and troubling.
According to him, the EC had earlier indicated it was in a position to declare the parliamentary results in the area, stating that the only outstanding issue was the need for security protection.
The NPP has maintained that the EC’s latest move lacks transparency and threatens the credibility of the electoral process.
