Bibiani Gold Stars have announced the contract extensions of midfielder Appiah McCarthy and winger Roland Frimpong.
Appiah McCarthy, a central midfielder, first signed a two-year contract with The Miners in February 2023.
Although his contract was due to expire in January this year, the former Ashantigold S.C., the club agreed to a short extension for the midfielder to see out the rest of the season.
It was a remarkable show of faith, given McCarthy's injury problems, which had kept him out of action the entire season.
However, he returned to play in the final three games of the season, as Gold Stars secured a historic Ghana Premier League title in May, on the final day of the season.
His new deal, a one-year extension, takes his stay at the club to 2026.
His teammate, Roland Frimpong, was signed from Real Tamale United on a two-year deal in July 2024.
In his first season, Frimpong played 26 league matches as Gold Stars won their first league title.
Frimpomg has also extended his contract by a year.
The pair will be part of the Gold Stars team when they begin pre-season preparations later this month, ahead of the new campaign.
