Black Queens midfielder Jennifer Cudjoe believes Ghana’s third-place finish at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is proof of progress in the Women’s game.
This was after Ghana claimed bronze after defeating South Africa 4-3 on penalties.
It’s the first time the Queens have medaled at WAFCON since 2016 when they also beat Banyana Banyana.
Ghana had failed to qualify for the last edition and couldn’t progress from the group stages as hosts in 2018.
“There is a progress now,” she said.
“So we hope in the future there is going to be more investment into women's football. For now, it is getting better than it used to be.”
Black Queens will arrive at Kotoka International Airport in Ghana on Monday, July 28, at 5:00am
Meanwhile, Nigeria were crowned champions after edging hosts Morocco to claim a record 10th title.
