The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that first-year Senior High School (SHS) students across the country are to report to school on Saturday, October 18.
The directive, which applies to both single-track and transitional schools, was contained in a circular to all Regional Directors of Education as part of the release of the 2025/2026 academic calendar.
According to the circular, the calendar outlines key term dates, holidays, and footnotes to guide schools on special arrangements for the smooth running of the academic year.
Regional Directors have been tasked to share the calendar with heads of second cycle institutions and ensure strict compliance. They have also been asked to provide the necessary monitoring and support to guarantee consistency across schools.
“The Service counts on your usual cooperation to ensure effective teaching and learning in our institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year,” the statement said.
