New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong has told party delegates that he is the only aspirant with the experience and creativity needed to win back power for the party in 2028.
Speaking after submitting his nomination forms at the NPP headquarters, the former Assin Central MP said, unlike other aspirants who said they have ideas, he has both “ideas and creativity” backed by a proven track record.
“I have done it before and will continue to do it. So if I tell you I’m going to create jobs for you, believe in me. Let’s ask some of the candidates what they have done,” he said.
He said his record as a businessman makes him the best candidate to tackle unemployment and improve livelihoods.
“We are no more going to listen to rhetoric. We want somebody who can create businesses for the youth of this country. I always say that any human being without a job has no life. Do you want life? Then vote for Kennedy Agyapong,” he said.
He also urged supporters not to allow themselves to be silenced or intimidated, saying that the NPP’s victory in 2028 depends on choosing a candidate who connects with the wider Ghanaian public.
“I am begging you in the name of God, let’s hear what Ghanaians are saying. Let’s bring Kennedy Agyapong. When we bring Kennedy Agyapong in 2028, victory will be for NPP,” he pleaded.
According to him, the demand for his leadership extends beyond party lines. “In the bars, chop bars, trotro, wherever you go, in the market, Ghanaians are crying for Kennedy Agyapong to lead this country,” he said.
He further cautioned delegates against individuals within the party who may seek to suppress support for his candidature.
“Don’t listen to anybody who’ll come and intimidate you because of his own selfishness. The party’s victory is paramount. And therefore, we need to come together without intimidation and make sure we select a winnable candidate that can win the 2028 election for the party,” he added.
