Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has reiterated his commitment to the values and traditions of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stating that both the party and the nation are calling for a leader grounded in principle, humility, and foresight.
Addressing party faithful after filing his nomination for the party's flagbearership, Dr Bawumia spoke of a growing demand both within the party and across Ghana for a new kind of leadership, one that reflects the founding ethos of the NPP and the aspirations of the Ghanaian people.
“The NPP and Ghana are demanding for a leader who embodies the values of this tradition – deep intellect, humility, respect for all persons, unity, courage, foresight, and resilience,” he said.
He emphasised that the path forward must be built not only on political ambition but on the timeless principles that have shaped the party since its founding, principles that, he argued, are more important now than ever.
“Dear citizens, as the NPP is looking for a leader who embodies the character of this party’s tradition and the values of our forebears, I, Mahamudu Bawumia, offer myself to lead the party for the 2028 elections,” he noted.
