The Acting Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Felix Gyamfi, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Finance with immediate effect.
Mr Gyamfi’s transfer comes barely seven months after his appointment in January 2025 and has sparked debate within public service circles over the abrupt nature of the decision.
Although the President has not provided an official explanation, sources at the Jubilee House indicate that the reassignment is part of a broader reshuffle intended to strengthen the administration’s economic management team.
However, media reports suggest that the delays in the posting of new national service personnel also weighed heavily in the decision-making process, following an audit of the Authority’s online deployment system.
Reports suggest that a policy disagreement between Mr Gyamfi and his supervising Minister, George Opare Addo, may have deepened tensions.
While the Minister for Youth Development is believed to favour the creation of a new deployment portal to eliminate systemic gaps, Mr Gyamfi argued that the existing system could be enhanced rather than scrapped altogether.
