Four individuals have been arrested by the Tema Community 1 District Police following a tip-off, in connection with the possession of substances believed to be Indian hemp.
The suspects identified as Nura Sali (44), Pius Chukwuma (49), Mustapha Umar (18), and Abdulai Amayau (23) were apprehended on Monday, 8th September 2025, at the Community 1 Industrial Area.

According to a press statement released by the Tema Community 1 District Police, 315 compressed parcels of the suspected narcotic concealed within the tyres of a truck bearing registration number GN 7291-16 were discovered.

The vehicle was intercepted and impounded during the operation. The suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations.
The Regional Police Command commended the officers involved for their professionalism and diligence.

It also reiterated its firm commitment to tackling drug-related offences to protect local communities.
The Command has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity promptly to the nearest police station to enable swift action.
