Asante Kotoko have expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing probe into the death of fan Nana Frimpong Pooley, more than seven months after the incident.
It’s been 226 days since the murder of the Porcupine supporter, yet no one has been found guilty.
The incident occurred on February 2, during last season’s Premier League clash between Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC, when the fan was stabbed to death.
The case still lingers in court, with eight people standing trial, and Kotoko are calling for swift action.
"The matter is pending in court, it is for the state [because] this is a criminal matter," Kotoko's Communications Director Sarfo Duku told JoySports.
"Last Wednesday, we were in court and the matter was adjourned to the 9th of October. All that we are waiting for is for the processes to be sped up.
"You cannot put any blame on anybody because of the nature of our judicial system. It has always been slow."
The incident marred last season’s Premier League, with the competition halted for over a month to allow stakeholder discussions and the introduction of enhanced safety and security protocols.
Following the acts of hooliganism, Nsoatreman FC withdrew from the competition.
Meanwhile, Kotoko, who ended the season in third place, have started the new campaign with a 1-0 win over Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.
